What We Have Done

We have to date worked with 23 schools in different parts of Bangladesh. We selected Bangladesh because it is a country with a very large population (150 million) with extremely limited natural resources. The only way Bangladesh can move out of poverty and dependence to prosperity and self reliance is through a trained and educated manpower.

We have set up new computer labs in 12 schools, upgraded science and vocational laboratories in 10 schools, provided books and furniture to 10 school libraries, and improved class room facilities with benches, desks and black boards in 12 schools. Fifty students were directly benefitted by our poor student stipend program and merit awards were given to 22 boys and 28 girls in 20 schools. Coaching for public examination was provided for 600 students in 11 schools. Overall, between 2005 and 2009, the educational opportunities of 12,000 students were enhanced by the programs undertaken by APW.
